Top-Quality Seismic Transmitters

Metrix seismic transmitters offer a reliable 4-20 mA DC signal output proportional to the amplitude of the vibration being monitored. This makes them perfectly suited for accurately detecting vibration at a very fine level and for inclusion as components in larger and more complex condition monitoring systems. Metrix seismic transmitters make ideal vibration transmitters for any high-end vibration detection applications where a Distributed Control System (DCS), Programmable Logic Controller (PLC), Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA), or other automation system is implemented in the place of a traditional, stand-alone vibration monitor.

Metrix provides seismic transmitters and other monitoring solutions for various environmental conditions and applications. Our catalog of products offers a range of operating temperatures, scale factors, frequency responses, connector types, case materials, mounting options, hazardous area conditions, and Safety Integrity Level (SIL) ratings. Because the output of a seismic transmitter is directly linked to the amplitude of the vibrations being monitored, these devices go far beyond a traditional vibration switch that can only detect vibrations on a binary level (on-off). The vibration transmitter output improves the data your condition monitoring system relies on to keep your people safe, equipment running, and process producing.

Why Is Metrix Vibration the Premier Supplier of Seismic Transmitters?

For laypersons, seismic vibration monitoring is often linked to detecting earthquakes and other activity in the earth’s tectonic plates. This is because seismic technology can detect these geological vibrations at very small levels and measure the strength of vibrations during catastrophic earthquakes. With quality seismic transmitters and condition monitoring equipment from Metrix, these same principles can be applied to your operation, whether you’re involved in oil & gas, manufacturing, energy, wastewater, or any other industry that relies on pumps, motors, fans, compressors, or other costly machinery that may degrade with time.

If you have questions about seismic transmitters or how to effectively integrate a new vibration transmitter into your condition monitoring practices, please reach out to our friendly, knowledgeable staff today. We will be happy to recommend the products that will best serve your application.

ST5484E Velocity Transmitter

The ST5484E is a loop-powered vibration transmitter and signal conditioner that offers reliable consistent outputs, at the accuracy level your condition monitoring system needs, without requiring additional signal conditioning circuitry. This sensor is often used in hazardous areas and offers a SIL rating. It is highly accurate and the standard for the industry. It’s perfect for rolling element bearing machines and reciprocating machines.

ST5491E Indicating

The ST5491E is a loop-powered vibration transmitter and signal conditioner that offers reliable consistent outputs, at the accuracy level your condition monitoring system needs, with the addition of an attached local indication that is required for many plants and factories. This sensor is often used in hazardous areas and offers a SIL rating.

162VTS Slim

The 162VTS is similar to the ST5484E but with a narrower body. It’s a simple, two-wire loop-powered transmitter that is ideal for most plant and factory applications. If your condition monitoring plan calls for a simple seismic vibration transmitter that is relatively compact with easy setup and reliable outputs, the 162VTS is a perfect solution.

ST6900 Compact Series

The ST6900 series are compact, case-mounted transmitters, that are used in non-hazardous area locations. Like the above vibration transmitters, they are ready to interface with your PLC, DCS, SCADA, or any other system using a standard 4-20 mA signal right out of the box.

IT6810 Impact

The IT6810 is a specialized sensor for detecting mechanical looseness. This is achieved through a piezoelectric crystal sensor paired with a timing function and impact counter/memory device so that the severity of events can be determined and recorded.

IT6811 Impact

This device is similar to the IT6810 but has an integral cable.

IT6812 Impact

This device is similar to the IT6810 but is mounted in a housing that is suitable for a Class 1 Div 1 hazardous area.

6850-001 Impact Meter

Impact Meter to quickly check impact transmitters on-site.
